Dollar Find Friday - Christine

It’s me Christine  back with you again for a little project that you can create with great finds at your Dollar Store.

As I was perusing through the aisles at my Dollarama I came across some pretty oval wood frames you could hang…I thought I’d take it home and see what I could do with it.  And here’s what I came up with…a welcome sign for your door to greet your guests.

I thought the idea of this cute little mushroom home from the set  My Little Friend  to showcase the sign would be great.

I started by painting my sign that was a yellowy pine, with a whitewash of acrylic paint and water…it just toned down the color more and gave it more of a birch-colored tone, which is what I was looking for.

I colored up the cute little mushroom home with colors that would match my place and then added some chipboard numbers painted with Craft Ink refill and heat set to dry.  I used the Grand Labels Four in my Grand Calibur machine to frame the pieces up.

Then just some pretty ribbons to accent the chain and it’s complete.   It’s a cute little Dollar Store project.  I think I might go and get some more of these frames and make name signs for the kids’ rooms, a good project for the summer!
